What Does Marijuana Test Consist Of

Marijuana contains hundreds of known compounds, the most famous of which is called THC - tetrahydrocannabinol. The main psychoactive component of the herb, THC, is directly responsible for changes in mood, perceptions and behavior that are associated with cannabis use. When processing THC from the body, the molecule is degraded in the liver to 11-nor-9-carboxy-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC-COOH - the primary THC metabolite.

This metabolite is the main molecule on which most "narcotic" marijuana tests are based. They are mostly held by law enforcement agencies but may be mandatory when applying for certain positions in state institutions, schools, and private companies. They are especially useful for parents who want to know if their child is using cannabis.

In 90% of cases, urine tests are considered to be particularly reliable in the detection of THC-COOH. Saliva, hair, sweat and blood tests predominantly detect other residual molecules at much lower concentrations.

Hair tests can demonstrate the use of cannabis within 90 days of use. Blood and saliva tests are used to demonstrate use during the last 10-12 hours.

The presence of THC-COOH depends on a number of factors: the mode of use, the type of marijuana, the age, the physical condition and the metabolism of the user,

THC is a fat-soluble molecule, which means it accumulates in the fatty tissues of the body. The more complete people will carry THC and its metabolites significantly longer than the weak people without excess fat.

Chronicity of intake is also important: For rare users of marijuana, all THC-COOH may be discarded and discarded within 4 days, with frequent users up to 10 days, but in case of systemic intake, THC-COOH may be detected and 3 months after the last intake (data from the National Drug Court Institute).

Unlike urine tests, blood tests look for the active forms of THC and its metabolites in the bloodstream. Positive results can be reported from a few hours to two days after use, with rarely taking this interval 3-12 hours, and for more devoted lovers the positive blood test period is up to 7 days.

Enhanced physical activity, increased water intake and fasting are seen as effective methods for quicker purification of the body than exogenous cannabinoid molecules. There is no scientific evidence supporting the claims for the effectiveness of detoxifying herbal teas, intake of activated charcoal or painkillers. The use of diuretics to lure urine tests is also not proven effective, and diuretics themselves can be detected in the urine and lead to legal and legal complications.

It should be known to all concerned that these tests are not 100% accurate and may give false positives.

Research also demonstrates the possibility that blood and urine contain THC and its metabolites, even after inhalation of second-hand smoke - when someone else smokes. A brief stay in a smoky room where someone has used marijuana and other forms of contact with secondary smoke levels the cannabis in the blood.
